Requirements

  • No prior work experience required.
  • Must possess a Commercial Drivers License B (CDL).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, including previous employment check and motor vehicle record review.
  • Acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a heavy-duty truck on transfer routes.
  • Operate vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
  • Report any unsafe situations or service calls to the Operations Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
  • Participate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by the Operations Manager.
  • Work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.
  • Perform all duties as scheduled by the Operations Manager or Dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed.
  • Notify the Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
  • Completely dump all containers and leave the customer's location clean and free of debris.
  • Position containers on the customer's property properly and ensure lids are replaced and containers are upright.
  • Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking in at the end of the route.
