About The Position

This position involves safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes. The role requires adherence to Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. The driver is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe vehicle, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and reporting any unsafe situations or service calls to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. The position emphasizes teamwork and communication with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and address any issues that arise during the route.

Requirements

• Must have a Commercial Drivers License B (CDL).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a heavy-duty truck on transfer routes.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Report any unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings.
• Work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies.
• Notify Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, or property damage.
• Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
• Ensure containers are positioned correctly and leave the customer's location clean.
• Complete and submit customer tickets for excess yardage removal.
• Follow route assignments and complete documentation at the end of the route.
