About The Position

The position involves safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes. The job requires adherence to Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. The role emphasizes the importance of maintaining a clean and safe vehicle, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and reporting any unsafe situations or service calls to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. The job also includes participation in training and meetings, improving route efficiencies, and ensuring customer satisfaction by properly handling containers and maintaining cleanliness at customer locations.

Requirements

• No prior work experience required.
• Must possess a Commercial Drivers License B (CDL).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle.
• Reports unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Participates in scheduled training and meetings.
• Works with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies.
• Completes all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Notifies Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, or property damage.
• Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
• Ensures containers are positioned correctly and leaves customer locations clean.
• Completes and submits customer tickets for excess yardage removal.
• Follows route assignments and completes documentation at the end of the route.
