About The Position

The position involves safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes. The job requires adherence to Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. The role includes performing pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any unsafe situations, and participating in scheduled training and meetings. The driver will work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies and will be responsible for ensuring customer locations are clean and free of debris after service.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in the trash industry and/or local delivery driving is preferred.
• Must possess a Commercial Drivers License B (CDL).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a heavy-duty truck on transfer routes.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Report any unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Participate in scheduled training and meetings.
• Work with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies.
• Notify Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, or property damage.
• Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
• Ensure customer locations are clean and free of debris after service.
• Complete and submit customer tickets for excess yardage removal.
• Follow route assignments and complete documentation at the end of the route.
