The position involves safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes. The role requires adherence to Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. The driver is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe vehicle, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and reporting any unsafe situations or service calls to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. The driver will also participate in training and cooperate with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies. The job requires effective communication with customers and the completion of all documentation related to the route.

  • Safely operate a heavy-duty truck on transfer routes.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
  • Report any unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
  • Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required.
  • Work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies.
  • Assist other company drivers as directed by Operations Manager or Dispatch.
  • Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  • Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
  • Ensure all containers are dumped and the customer's location is clean and free of debris.
  • Complete and submit customer tickets for excess yardage removal.
  • Position containers properly on the customer's property to avoid blocking driveways or traffic.
  • Follow route assignments and complete all documentation at the end of the route.
  • No prior work experience required.
  • Must possess a Commercial Drivers License B (CDL).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
