About The Position

Safely operates a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes. The position requires adherence to Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, as well as all local, state, and federal regulations. The driver must maintain a clean and safe vehicle and perform pre- and post-trip inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR). Immediate reporting of unsafe situations or service calls to the Operations Manager or Dispatch is essential. The role involves participation in scheduled training and cooperation with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies. The driver is responsible for completing all duties as scheduled, notifying management of any incidents, and ensuring customer locations are left clean and free of debris.

Requirements

  • No prior work experience required.
  • Must possess a Commercial Drivers License B (CDL).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

  • Operates vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements.
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle.
  • Reports unsafe situations or service calls to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
  • Participates in all scheduled training and meetings.
  • Works with Operations Managers to improve route efficiencies.
  • Completes all duties as scheduled by Operations Manager or Dispatch.
  • Notifies Operations Manager of incidents, accidents, or property damage.
  • Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Operations Manager.
  • Ensures customer locations are clean and free of debris after service.
  • Completes and submits customer tickets for excess yardage removal.
  • Positions containers properly on customer properties.
  • Follows route assignments and completes documentation at the end of the route.
