CDL Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator Job Summary The Class B Truck Driver is responsible for operating a commercial heavy truck on public roadways and on the construction jobsite in a safe and efficient manner. The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment on a construction jobsite in a safe manner. The CDL Truck Driver/Equipment Operator must complete prestart checks, assist with fluid checks, securing the equipment, cleaning, and other duties as directed by the Foreman or Superintendent. The employee will work between driving ready mix trucks, dump trucks, and operating yard equipment. Excellent Benefits & Incentives!! Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License
  • Must have a valid medical card as per DOT standard
  • Must have a good driving record with no major violations
  • Complete and pass pre-employment testing, including a drug screen and physical

Responsibilities

  • Operating commercial trucks in a safe and efficient manner according to company policy and FMCSA guidelines
  • Performing daily maintenance and pre-trip checks
  • Responsible for cleaning trucks and material from trailer with the use of hand and power tools
  • Ensuring that the truck is secured at the end of the shift
  • Operating equipment in a safe and efficient manner according to company policy, as well as manufacturer’s guidelines
  • Performing daily maintenance and safety checks
  • Cleaning equipment as required
  • Ensuring that equipment is secured at the end of the shift
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Climb ladder 8-10 feet to access equipment operating station
  • Keep equipment moving along specified path to ensure equipment is processing material to required specifications
  • Remove excess built up material at the end of shift using a scrapper and shovel, periodically the Equipment Operator may need to use jack or chipping hammers
