About The Position

The CDL Truck Driver position at WM involves safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes. The role is essential for maintaining the company's operations and ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient service delivery. The driver is expected to adhere to safety regulations and company policies while performing their duties.

Requirements

• Must possess a Commercial Drivers License B (CDL).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Acceptable driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a heavy-duty truck on transfer routes.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
• Report any unsafe situations or service calls to the Route Manager or Dispatch.
• Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and identify issues.
• Assist other company drivers as directed by Route Manager or Dispatch.
• Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
• Ensure all containers are dumped and the customer's location is clean and free of debris.
• Complete and submit customer tickets for excess yardage removal.
• Position containers properly on the customer's property to avoid blocking entrances or traffic.
• Follow route assignments and complete all documentation at the end of the route.
