About The Position

The CDL Transfer Driver at SRS Building Products ensures safe, timely transport of building materials between company locations, complying with all regulations and delivery schedules. This role supports operational efficiency and customer service excellence through skilled driving and effective coordination with logistics teams.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL with a clean driving record
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial driving; building materials experience preferred
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and route planning
  • Proficient in transportation systems
  • Strong communication and attention to detail
  • Reliable and proactive problem-solver
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in varied weather conditions
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training or certification in truck driving
  • Experience with route optimization and navigation technologies
  • Knowledge of building materials and industry-specific transport needs
  • Proficiency in telematics and vehicle management software
  • Hazardous materials certification and handling expertise
  • Strong safety leadership and initiative

  • Experience mentoring junior drivers

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial trucks and follow all safety protocols
  • Load/unload materials as needed
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation
  • Conduct vehicle inspections and report issues
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations
  • Meet delivery schedules and support logistics coordination
  • Provide excellent customer service during interactions
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize routes
  • Resolve transport-related issues efficiently
