About The Position

The position involves safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on swing routes, which include driving in various environments such as residential, commercial, and construction areas. The driver is responsible for adhering to safety regulations and maintaining a clean and safe vehicle while performing pre- and post-trip inspections. The role requires effective communication with Route Managers and Dispatch to ensure efficient operations and address any issues that arise during the route.

Requirements

• 2 years operating a vehicle requiring a CDL
• Equivalent military driving experience within the last 7 years
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located
• CDL-Class B Commercial Drivers License

Responsibilities

• Safely operates a heavy-duty truck in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle using DVIR.
• Reports unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch.
• Participates in scheduled training and meetings as required.
• Works closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies.
• Completes all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch.
• Notifies Route Manager of incidents, accidents, or property damage.
• Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
• Ensures all containers are dumped and the customer's location is clean.
• Completes and submits customer tickets for excess yardage removal.
• Positions containers properly on the customer's property and follows route assignments.
