Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write and understand English; being bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and Logistic Managers/Supervisors.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures in compliance with company guidelines.
  • Visually inspects warehouse area for tripping hazards, equipment safeguards, employee’s safety, and adherence to policies and maintains compliance with housekeeping rules.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Be a H.S. graduate and have previous forklift experience.
  • Be dependable, reliable and mature enough to handle equipment safely and sensibly.
  • Must have CDL with a minimum of one year experience with a clean record.
  • Read, write, understand and communicate in English; ability to communicate in Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to do functional math: (i.e. add, subtract, multiply and divide).

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Manual dexterity required with exposure to arm, wrist and back fatigue.
  • The employee continuously uses their arms, hands and fingers to handle, grasp, hold, grip and squeeze.
  • The employee may bend and lift up to 30 pounds and climbs/descends stairs.
  • The employee stands approximately 2 hours and routinely walks the warehouse area to check production and consult with other employees.
  • The employee routinely steps up 1 ½ feet and pulls themselves into the seat of a forklift, as well as the cab of a tractor.
  • Operation of pallet jacks, lifting equipment and driving the forklift are essential to job responsibilities.
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions on this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, palletized product in excess of 1,000 pounds stored in floor locations, and loading/offloading operations of trailers and containers.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
  • The employee is continuously exposed to temperature variances from extreme heat during the summer to extreme cold during the winter.
  • An essential part of this position is to work in a teamwork environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transports product between plant and warehouse.
  • Also moves finished goods and supplies to designated areas ensuring all associated documentation is accurately filled out and properly submitted.
  • Fulfill all DOT requirements as prescribed.
  • Fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a Forklift Operator, including shipping, receiving, and inventory processing.
  • Provide assistance in the training of Forklift Operators.
  • Verify accuracy of shipping documentation both for carrier, and customer.
  • Perform cycle counting as assigned.
  • Perform consolidation efforts.
  • Validate pick pack and staged orders.
  • Ensure trailers are properly loaded with respect to stability and weight distribution of the finished product.
  • Ensure trailers are braced when disconnected from tractor and placed in a dock door.
  • Perform daily inspections of transportation equipment.
  • Perform daily inspections of site yards, performing yard-checks.
  • Responsible for maintaining housekeeping standards as prescribed.
  • Be willing and capable to work a 10 or 12 hour shift schedule, which could include weekdays, weekends, days and or night shifts.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by management.
