About The Position
The Residential Driver II position at Texas Disposal Systems (TDS) involves operating a residential system truck to collect waste from residential customers. The driver will be responsible for emptying customer containers into the truck and delivering the collected loads to designated landfills, transfer stations, or recycling centers. This role requires adherence to government regulations related to trucking and waste operations, ensuring that all operations are conducted safely and efficiently. The driver is expected to provide courteous and professional service to all customers, representing the company positively in the community. Candidates for this position should have a strong background in truck driving, particularly with medium or heavy trucks, and must be available to work scheduled shifts that may include nights, holidays, and weekends. The role demands excellent driving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Additionally, drivers must demonstrate proficiency in using electronic technology within eight weeks of their hire date, as they will be required to understand and execute work orders communicated via onboard technology. Effective communication skills in English are essential for interacting with the public, understanding traffic signs, responding to inquiries, and completing necessary documentation. This position offers a competitive pay structure and a hiring bonus of up to $8,000, with specific amounts based on the driver's experience in the waste industry.
