About The Position

Operate Ready Mix/Concrete Truck in a safe and efficient manner adhering to Martin Marietta and Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations. The position requires performing daily preventative maintenance, record, and inspection on vehicles including fueling, cleaning, tire/light inspection, checking, and adding fluids as needed. The operator will use water hoses to clean the mixer between loads and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Additionally, the operator will assist maintenance with repairs as needed and visually inspect the consistency of concrete in the mixer. Communication with coworkers is essential, either directly, through two-way radio, or hand signals. The operator is responsible for providing appropriate documentation on delivery tickets, ensuring all delivery tickets are signed and returned, and exercising good judgment regarding work site access, unloading, and operation to and from the work site. Maintaining good customer relations and acting in a professional, courteous manner is crucial, as is maintaining a professional appearance. The operator may also assist in training co-workers as needed and must demonstrate good knowledge of lock-out/tag-out procedures. A good working knowledge of Rules and Regulations is required to assure facility compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other regulatory agencies. The operator is required to follow all safety policies and procedures and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a Class B Commercial Drivers' License (CDL) or better.
• One-year experience operating diesel tandem trucks and/or Ready Mix truck driving experience preferred.
• Possess a safe driving record.
• Maintain an active DOT qualification.
• Read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to perform well in a team environment.
• Self-motivator.

Nice To Haves

• ACI Grade 1 Testing (concrete field testing) preferred.

Responsibilities
