About The Position
SAGE is seeking a CDL Instructor to train others in comprehensive CDL training courses, including basic, advanced, and specialized tractor-trailer training. This role is for experienced CDL drivers who are ready to transition from driving on the road to teaching the next generation of truck drivers. SAGE is a #1 rated national truck driver training school, known for its curriculum modeled after the highest training standards in the trucking industry. The instructor will be responsible for demonstrating curriculum subject matter, communicating instructions, assessing student performance, and providing guidance on driving maneuvers on a skills driving range and on public roads.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL License
- Minimum two (2) years of practical trucking related experience that demonstrates instructional competency
- A safe CDL A driving record as determined by the SAGE Safety Department
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of safe truck driving and all of the laws and regulations covering tractor-trailer interstate operations
- Capable of demonstrating the SAGE curriculum subject matter for the students
- Show an attitude that is favorable toward performance, assessed according to professionalism, respect, motivation, maturity, and safety
- Knowledge, skill, and actual performance abilities that far exceed the abilities identified in the objectives of the curriculum
- Meet the minimum qualifications for interstate tractor-trailer drivers in accordance with all requirements of the applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, including, but not limited to, meeting the physical and driver qualification standards of Part 391
- Be able to pass a D.O.T. drug/alcohol screen
