About The Position

The CDL Fleet Driver is responsible for the safe transport, setup, and operational support of SimonMed’s mobile mammography units. This role has both daily and weekly travel requirements throughout the state. Drivers are typically home each night, but occasional overnight travel within Arizona may be required depending on site scheduling and location. This position collaborates closely with clinical and operations staff to ensure every patient receives a seamless, high-quality experience while maintaining a safe, professional, and well-functioning mobile environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of related CDL driving experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Valid CDL (Class A or B) required.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) – minimum 7 years preferred.
  • Proficient in maneuvering, backing, and parking Class A/B vehicles. (tandem and single units)
  • Working knowledge of DOT safety standards and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Frequent bending, climbing, and manual handling of equipment.
  • Active CDL

Responsibilities

  • Safely drive and operate mobile medical units to screening locations across all 15 Arizona counties.
  • Ensure timely setup and breakdown of mobile units (standard 30-minute preparation/close-down).
  • Park, level, and secure the unit; set steps, awnings, and door handles; maintain professional site appearance.
  • Conduct daily generator checks, oil inspections, and ensure fuel tanks remain above half capacity.
  • Maintain water and wastewater systems—empty holding tanks and refill fresh water daily.
  • Perform daily sanitation of all areas, including restrooms, floors, countertops, mirrors, and refrigeration units.
  • Restock and organize cleaning and facility supplies as needed.
  • Perform daily vehicle safety inspections and maintain accurate driver logs in accordance with DOT and company policy.
  • Report any maintenance issues promptly to management.
  • Ensure compliance with SimonMed’s safety, operational, and HIPAA policies at all times
  • Coordinate travel times and site details with office site coordinators and clinical staff.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication throughout the day with unit leads and team members.
  • Remain accessible by mobile phone during working hours.
  • Assist patients as needed during inclement weather or difficult access conditions.
