About The Position

As a CDL Driver at PODS, you will be responsible for safely delivering and picking up PODS containers, interacting directly with customers, and ensuring every delivery is completed professionally, efficiently, and incident-free. This role involves operating a commercial truck equipped with a unique lift mechanism for loading and unloading containers in both residential and business settings. You will complete local deliveries and pickups, adhering to DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards, and perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections. Drivers use company-provided handheld devices for navigation, delivery confirmation, and communication. Beyond driving, you will act as a brand ambassador, answering customer questions and assisting with container placement. When not on the road, you will contribute to storage center functions, including forklift operation and light container maintenance. Requirements

  • A valid CDL license.
  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • At least 21 years old.
  • Possess (or be able to obtain) a DOT Medical Card.
  • Minimum of 3 months of professional driving experience.
  • A safety-first “zero-incident” mindset with no moving violations in the past three years.
  • Strong sense of spatial relations—you can park a vehicle and negotiate tight residential spaces with ease.
  • Comfortable climbing in and out of the cab (using three points of contact).
  • Operating a forklift.
  • Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. or applying up to 40 lbs. of pressure for equipment operation.
  • Can work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Understand customer needs and make service excellence a priority.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Can read, write and communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a commercial truck equipped with our unique lift mechanism to load and unload containers in residential and business settings.
  • Complete local deliveries and pickups while following DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections to keep your rig—and yourself—safe and keep truck cab and equipment clean and inspection-ready.
  • Use company-provided handheld devices for navigation, delivery confirmation, and communication.
  • Act as our brand ambassador. You’ll answer questions, solve placement puzzles, and ensure every container is clean and presentable.
  • When you aren't on the road, you'll help with storage center functions, forklift operation, and light container maintenance to keep the operation humming.
