About The Position

The CDL Driver is responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer and other equipment to transport merchandise between company locations, warehouses, and delivery sites. This role ensures timely deliveries while complying with all federal and state regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience operating a tractor/trailer truck preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to review, categorize, prioritize, and analyze data.
  • Applies established standards to recognize relationships and outcomes.
  • Ability to provide guidance and communicate procedures effectively to others.
  • Skilled in operating trucks and related equipment requiring precision and quick adjustments.
  • Ability to understand and communicate using a wide range of information and instructions.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and interpretation of graphs.
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, and diagrammatic instructions and apply logical problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making in varying situations.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting (20–50 lbs regularly; up to 100 lbs occasionally).
  • Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, sounds, depth, and visual cues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Exposure to dust, dirt, temperature extremes, and other environmental factors.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a tractor/trailer truck and various light and heavy equipment to transport merchandise.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Load and unload merchandise from trucks, storage areas, and loading docks.
  • Ensure proper handling and securing of cargo during transport.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
  • Deliver mail and perform other miscellaneous delivery-related duties.
  • Comply with all federal and state DOT rules, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Report vehicle issues, accidents, or delays promptly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
