About The Position
CDL Truck Driver (Class A or B) – Lumber & Building Materials Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Hudson, MA Reports To: Store Manager / Dispatch Koopman Lumber is hiring an experienced CDL Truck Driver (Class A or Class B) to deliver building materials to residential and commercial jobsites. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role — not just driving from point A to point B. Drivers are expected to load, unload, handle returns, and work outdoors in all seasons. This role requires physical effort and problem-solving — it’s not dock-to-dock driving. Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and capable of sustained, heavy work
- Strong focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service
- Comfortable using smartphones or tablets for routing and communication
- Ability to frequently lift 80 lbs and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs independently
- Frequent bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, and material handling
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and DOT physical
Nice To Haves
- Hoisting License (H-1C preferred)
- Experience operating Moffett and forklifts strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A or Class B trucks to deliver lumber and building materials
- Load and unload your own truck using forklifts, Moffett, and manual labor as required
- Deliver to active jobsites and load returns from customer locations
- Secure loads properly and inspect materials for accuracy and condition
- Communicate with dispatch using mobile apps or tablets
- Complete required logs, inspections, and delivery paperwork
- Represent Koopman Lumber professionally with customers and jobsite personnel
