The swing driver is responsible for safely operating all types of company owned commercial motor vehicles. This position adheres to company policies & procedures, governing regulatory requirements, & provides excellent customer service.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Must pass pre-employment criteria
Valid Class A CDL w/ HazMat & Tanker Endorsements
Minimum 2+ years’ experience (Preferred)
Satisfactory driving experience
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must be able to obtain TWIC clearance
Must be able to pass a DOT physical & drug screen
Must be able to pass a background check

Responsibilities

Ensures maximum efficiency in achieving or exceeding established goals
Operate various equipment with a GVW >26,001 lbs. (including but not limited to van trailers, tank trailers, & straight trucks)
Performs complete pre- and post-trip inspections including, but not limited to checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, spill kit, gauges, & controls
Maneuvers commercial truck safely in congested city, highway, & client job sites
Complies with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, load securement, parking, & break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
Communicates with & receives direction from office personnel dispatching loads
Completes all required daily paperwork & vehicle inspection reports while complying with all local, state, & federal regulations
Maintain up to date training & education for licenses, permits & regulatory information specific to job responsibilities
Documents & logs work / rest periods and miles spent driving
Demonstrates safety conscious behaviors & attends training / safety meetings
Assists with the cleaning of company facilities, equipment, & general housekeeping
After training competency has been verified, assists with training drivers
Reports defects, accidents, or violations & performs other duties as assigned
Must be able to complete shipping documents accurately & legibly in accordance with all state / federal regulations
