The Role Operates medium-size truck (such as stake trucks but excluding pickup trucks) to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, and personnel within an industrial area. Loads and unloads trucks by hand or by use of mechanical devices such as hoists, pumps, lifts or winches. Makes minor mechanical adjustments. Requires a valid truck operators permit. Exclude long-haul operators; helpers; driver-salespeople; operators receiving commissions, zone rates, incentive pay, or hazardous premium rates; and operators generally required to perform off-the-road driving.
