About The Position

We are looking for a licensed truck driver who will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods and other articles of trade to our customers. You will be tasked with driving and maintaining trucks that will be assigned to you, as well as working closely with our team of dispatchers in order to plan routes and track deliveries. A Class A CDL is required. Successful candidates must have a clean driving record and must pass a drug and alcohol test. Truck Driver Responsibilities: Drive and operate trucks Complete and verify daily paperwork for accuracy. Local and Regional drayage deliver goods to warehouses and facilities. Ability to utilize Electronic Logging Device (ELD) Record cargo deliveries. Keep assigned truck in clean condition and refuel. Follow proper procedures in reporting accidents and incidents immediately to the dispatchers and Risk and Compliance Follow traffic laws, DOT regulations and Port City procedures. Pre-inspect trucks and record issues. Follow accident procedures. Keep activities log and log hours. Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel. Ability to understand GPS and plan routes. Get goods to the client on time. Maintain a positive attitude with customers, dispatchers, supervisors and warehouse staff. Keep commercial driver license up to date and in good standing Always adhere to traffic safety regulations, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors Job Requirements: The following have been established as minimum requirements for Standard (non-CDL) and CDL Drivers who will operate a Port City Logistics vehicle, or operate a personal vehicle on Port City Logistics business. 1. A minimum driver's age requirement of twenty-three (23) years of age 2. License to operate the vehicle they have applied to operate (ie, CDL for commercial vehicles, state-issued driver's license for standard/non-commercial vehicles) May not possess more than one (1) motor vehicle operator's license CDL must be issued by driver's legal state of domicile, where driver has “true, fixed and permanent home and principal residence and to which you have the intention of returning whenever [driver] is absent'. If driver establishes domicile in another state, driver must transfer CDL within thirty (30) days. 3. At least two (2) years verifiable driving experience 4. No more than two (2) driving violations for the past three (3) years 5. No more than two (2) preventable accidents in the past three (3) years 6. A written application 7. Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records (49 CFR §391.11(b)(2)) 8. MVR check at initial hire and Annual Review/update. Acceptable MVRs should not include any serious violations in the prior five (5) years, including, but not limited to: Driving Under the Influence of drugs or alcohol (DWI/DUI) Hit & Run Failure to Report an Accident Negligent Homicide arising out of the use of a motor vehicle Operating a motor vehicle during a period of license suspension or revocation Using a motor vehicle for or during the commission of a felony Operating a motor vehicle without the owner's permission or authority Permitting an unlicensed person to drive Reckless Driving 9. Prior Employment Check 10. Documented road test by a qualified senior company driver or person designated by PCL that meets the qualifications outlined in 49 CFR §391.31(b) 11. Satisfactory physical exam 12. Pre-employment substance abuse tests 13. Interview with drivers to verify information submitted on their applications

Requirements
