CDL Driver Job Responsibilities Drivers commercial truck and trailer to transport utility poles to and from specified destinations applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and area roads. Loads/unloads utility poles by operating attached boom. Responsible for pickup and delivery paperwork. Inspects equipment for safety prior to use and performs necessary basic maintenance tasks Inspects and ensures that truck and trailer are in satisfactory “over the road” condition Inspects and ensures that load is secured to meet regulations and product is protected during transport Complies with state and deferral regulations and laws Complies with company policies and procedures Maintains organized and detailed documentation Delivers products to customers in a timely, efficient, cost-effective and safe manner while preserving quality of loaded products Operate boom equipment in a safe and appropriate manner Reports any unusual conditions encountered at customer location or in route Performs emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs Performs other work-related duties as required Candidate Qualifications/ Requirements Current valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with exceptional driving record Minimum two years “over the road” driving experience Ability to read and understand maps, routes, road signs Excellent customer service skills Basic math and measurement skills Basic tablet/smart phone skills Koppers Inc. and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity employers.
