About The Position

The CDL (Class A) Logistics Truck Driver (Tractor & Straight Truck & Boom Truck) is responsible for operating a 48’ tractor-trailer truck and a 22’ straight truck that transports fabricated ductwork, pipe, construction materials, tools, and HVAC equipment to and from construction sites. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Actively promote and enforce THG Safety Program, policies and procedures, including the goals of a Zero Injury Program Prepares, receives, and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service. Loads, secures and unloads cargo. Maintains cellular and email contact with dispatch to receive delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick up. Maintains logs of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations. Responsible for light vehicle maintenance, daily inspection, and presentation. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Must display proven ability to operate both tandem axle tractors with 48’ trailers as well as 22’ straight trucks In order to operate Knuckle Boom, must display an active NCCCO & City of Chicago Knuckle Boom Operators license Spot Trailers within campus Aid in pulling Tool Orders (If required) Aid in maintaining a clean & organized warehouse (If required) All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum (5) years CDL experience required
  • Knowledge of DOT Rules & Regulations
  • Proficiency with cellular & GPS devices
  • Requires an ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
  • Requires a great attention to detail, accuracy and an ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Must be dependable, organized and self-motivated
  • Communication with multiple divisions of the company
  • Ability to react to changes, flexibility, while maintaining efficiency
