Full Time CDL Driver
About The Position
Alaska Waste, a Waste Connections company, has an immediate opening for a CDL Driver to support local routes in Healy, AK! Schedule is Monday to Friday from 7am to 3 or 4pm. Pay will be $30.00 per hour depending on experience. Waste Connections is an integrated solid waste services company that provides solid waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling services in mostly exclusive and secondary markets. Requirements
- Valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement required.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English.
- Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge and ability to maintain company vehicles in working condition
Responsibilities
- Ability to safely operate a garbage and tank truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
- Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
- Ability to perform a physically demanding job, loading and unloading, at times with no helpers.
- Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Following all appropriate safety guidelines and precautions, wearing required person protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a neat and professional appearance at all times.
