About The Position

The CDL Driver position at thyssenkrupp Supply Chain Services NA, Inc. involves providing timely delivery of products to customers while representing the company in a positive manner. The driver is responsible for ensuring that the truck is in proper working order and performing various duties as required. Key accountabilities include verifying that the correct items are loaded, performing inspections, assisting in loading and unloading, ensuring material protection, delivering products and paperwork, maintaining truck service, and operating overhead cranes and forklifts. This position requires a commercial driver's license (CDL) and is classified as safety sensitive, necessitating pre-employment drug testing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Applicable motor vehicle licensing (i.e. CDL class A and/or B or class 3 in Canada).
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds on a continuous basis.
• Safety mindset.

Nice To Haves

• 3-5 years driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify that correct items are loaded on the truck for delivery.
• Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and secure.
• Assist in loading and unloading of trucks, ensuring the truck is properly secured and not overweight.
• Ensure that material is protected from outdoor elements.
• Deliver product and proper paperwork to customers in a courteous and timely manner.
• Clean up any debris caused by loading/unloading of the truck.
• Maintain the truck's overall service and perform required inspections.
• Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift, including daily logs and inspection logs.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer, mechanical, or delivery problems.
• Assist in activities related to lean and/or quality.
• Train others when required.
