Why Clemens Food Group Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision) starting day 1 of employment Competitive hourly pay of $26–$36, based on experience and qualifications. 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holiday pay Opportunities for career growth and professional development Stable, family-owned company with a strong values-driven culture Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Team-oriented environment where your contributions make an impact Key Responsibilities Train new drivers on company procedures, safe driving techniques, and use of Samsara ELD systems Provide instruction on FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service, ELDs, and safety compliance requirements Prepare drivers for CDL-A licensing through classroom instruction and hands-on training Conduct yard training exercises including blind side backing, sight side backing, and curbside deliveries Perform on-road training and ride-alongs to evaluate and coach driver performance Retrain drivers requiring additional support, including those identified by the Accident Review Committee Reinforce safe driving practices and ensure adherence to company and departmental standards Document all training activities, ride-alongs, certifications, and incident reports Maintain accurate driver qualification files to ensure DOT compliance Participate in the interview and hiring process, including conducting road tests and onboarding new hires Support accident investigations and contribute to the Accident Review Committee Assist in preparing and presenting materials for bi-annual Safety Meetings Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and integrity

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service and ELD requirements
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in simple, easy-to-understand terms
  • Strong teaching, coaching, and communication skills
  • Patience and adaptability when working with drivers of varying skill levels and learning styles
  • Strong observational skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback
  • Organizational skills to manage documentation and compliance records
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
  • CDL-A License (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in driver training, transportation safety, or fleet operations
  • Familiarity with Samsara or similar ELD systems
  • Knowledge of basic truck systems and operations
  • Experience conducting road tests, ride-alongs, and driver evaluations
  • Willingness to travel as needed
