About The Position

We are seeking a versatile CDL Equipment Operator to transport vital materials and assist in the maintenance of county roads and bridges. In this role, you will operate a variety of machinery – from haul trucks to front-end loaders – while performing essential laboring and preventive maintenance tasks to keep our infrastructure safe and efficient.

Requirements

Maintaining facilities, knowledge in areas such as landscaping, general maintenance and/or general construction
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to adapt, plan, and perform maintenance under changing conditions
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid commercial driver’s license issued by the state of SC (Class A, Class B CDL with air brakes).
Clean driving record and the ability to maintain insurability.

Responsibilities

Material Transport & Spreading: Safely operate CDL vehicles to haul and spread gravel, dirt, and asphalt.
Equipment Operation: Utilize front-end loaders, steel wheel rollers, and patching machines for road construction and ditching.
Preventative Maintenance: Conduct daily fluid/safety checks and perform routine maintenance to ensure equipment longevity.
