HHS Construction, LLC a Congruex Company, is looking for a CDL Driver/Laborer to join our construction team. Congruex designs and builds broadband and wireless communications infrastructure. Our operating unit provides aerial, underground, substructure, ISP, wireless, telecom engineering, and splicing services and we are looking for a CDL Driver/Laborer to join our team. Must have a valid Class A driver's license and willing to work on a construction crew. The Class A driver/Laborer will be responsible for transporting heavy machinery and materials needed at various job sites throughout the area and must be willing to work on a crew assisting in construction activities. NOTE: This position is NOT solely a Class A driving position. Physical labor and or operating heavy equipment is a requirement of this position.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in telecommunications or underground utilities industry is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of basic hand tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to travel to wherever the job is needed.
  • Willing to perform work to support the values and goals of the Company.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the telecom, utility, construction, and/or engineering industry.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and care for construction equipment and machines.
  • Help equipment operator and other skilled labor when necessary.
  • Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
  • Load or unload construction materials.
  • Put together and take apart temporary structures, such as scaffolding.
  • Remove, fill, or compact earth, restore and repair all disturbed property.
  • Follow instructions from supervisors.
  • Assist craft workers.
  • Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
  • Perform site clean-up.
  • Travels to and from job sites.
  • Loads and unloads materials on truck.
  • Flags traffic, maintains the flow of traffic around construction sites. Directs vehicles as and when required.
  • Performs all phases of general and underground construction include but are not limited to loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment.
  • Restores and repairs all disturbed property.
  • Operates and/or works around heavy equipment and machinery such as, Backhoe, Jack Hammer, Jumping Jack, Hole Hog, Roto Hammer, Cut-Off Saw, Portable Water Pump, Saws-All, pedestals, cables, plastic conduit, shovel, rake, sledgehammer, pipe wrench, wire cutters, bolt cutters, cable cutters, drilling shafts, etc.
  • Always maintains safe working habits/conditions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
