About The Position

Winter Environmental is seeking a CDL Driver / Equipment Operator to support field operations, equipment transport, and warehouse activities across the Southeast. This is a hands-on, multi-functional role—not a driving-only position. Work will be split between job sites, equipment operation, and our yard/warehouse, supporting environmental remediation, demolition, and industrial service projects. This role combines CDL driving, equipment operation, and fleet/warehouse support. The ideal candidate is mechanically capable, safety-driven, and willing to contribute wherever needed to support operations.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL Class A or B with clean driving record
  • Experience hauling equipment and/or trailers
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance
  • Ability to properly secure loads (chains, binders, straps)
  • Ability to pass drug screening, background check, and DOT requirements
  • Willingness to work in field and yard environments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating: Vacuum excavation units / air movers, Skid steers or mini excavators
  • Mechanical aptitude (diesel, hydraulic, or electrical basics)
  • Experience in environmental, construction, or demolition work
  • Warehouse or yard operations experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate CDL Class A or B vehicles
  • Transport equipment and materials to/from job sites
  • Haul equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, generators, and support assets
  • Properly secure loads (chains, binders, straps)
  • Perform DOT-compliant pre/post trip inspections and maintain logs
  • Operate and support: Vacuum excavation units (hydro/vac), Air movers, Box Truck, Skid steers, mini excavators, and support equipment
  • Perform potholing, trench exposure, debris removal, and site support
  • Assist with mobilization and demobilization
  • Support daily yard and warehouse operations when not driving
  • Stage and prepare equipment for upcoming projects
  • Load/unload trucks and trailers
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and efficiency of yard
  • Assist with inventory tracking and equipment readiness
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
  • Inspect equipment before and after use
  • Identify and report repair needs
  • Help maintain overall fleet condition and uptime
  • Assist field crews with site setup and execution
  • Work alongside superintendents and operators to meet production goals
  • Adapt to varying jobsite environments (construction, industrial, remediation)
  • Travel to project sites throughout the Southeast as needed
  • Communicate effectively with field leadership and operations team
  • Promote teamwork and accountability across crews
