About The Position

Gate Gourmet, a gategroup company, is the world’s largest independent provider of catering and provisioning services for the airline industry. The company is seeking motivated individuals to help improve travelers' journeys. Local route Truck Drivers (CDL A or B) are responsible for loading galley equipment onto a truck, driving to various types of aircraft, and unloading the equipment. These drivers typically operate on local public roads, outside of the airport and terminal.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Current CA CDL Class A or B driver's license is required (All local routes and airport)
  • Some locations may require a Customs Seal from local airport authority (Local airport)
  • Must be able to read and write to complete required forms
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
  • Work assigned schedule which may vary and could include weekends and holidays (All local routes and airport)
  • Work overtime when required
  • Arrives to work on-time (Local facility)
  • Comply with company policies
  • Complete paperwork and related administrative duties
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move product, equipment and supplies up to fifty (50) pounds frequently during shift
  • Regularly stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during shifts of 8+ hours
  • Must be able to work at heights up to 25 feet or more depending upon aircraft

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred
  • Up to one-year experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Loads equipment on to the truck
  • Drives the truck to the aircraft (Local airport)
  • Loads galleys according to customer guidelines (Local airport)
  • Unloads dirty equipment, and places dirty equipment and trash in designated area (Local facility)
  • Accomplish all activities according to customer guidelines and while adhering to safety and sanitation regulations
  • Interact with the airline representatives at the aircraft (Local airport)
  • Follow directions
  • Work as a member of the Transportation team
  • Perform additional duties as deemed necessary by management
