Meet the Team Responsible for the safe operation of autonomous semi-trucks obeying all traffic laws and complying with DOT regulations. Completes inspections, driving reports and logs, services truck and trailer maintenance such as refueling, tire pressure, lights, etc., and ensures cargo is secured. Navigates inter and intrastate regulations, road and weather conditions, transportation barriers, other driver’s actions, etc. Provide feedback about real-world testing to the safety and software development teams. What You’ll Do: Driving and ensuring safe operation of autonomous semi-trucks obeying all traffic laws and complying with DOT regulations. Complete all inspections and safety checks before and after operation of the truck. Any safety concern must be communicated to operations safety manager and approval to drive before moving the vehicle. Complete driving reports, procedures, and tests to collect data to improve the technology. Provide essential feedback on system performance to the software and safety teams. Navigating inter and intrastate regulations, maintaining accurate logs and records. Research and communicate any weather or road conditions that may impact safe driving. Communicate any changing conditions to site location immediately. Notable attention to detail, both with documentation and on the road. Work closely with engineers, software developers, technicians, and operators. Ensure cargo and contents are properly secured in the trailer to prevent damage and injury. Maintain and service truck and trailer as needed such as refueling, tire pressure, etc. Communicate any truck and trailer maintenance needs to the mechanical technician as soon as possible for repairs. Always maintain cleanliness of the truck and trailer.
