About The Position

The delivery driver will transfer products, goods, and other merchandise from one location to another. This position involves driving company vehicles to deliver lumber, building materials, hardware, and other building and maintenance supplies to customers' homes, construction sites, or places of business. The driver will also collect payment from customers on COD orders, verify order details, and maintain accurate delivery records. Customer service is a key aspect of this role, as the driver acts as a liaison between the customer and store personnel.

Requirements

• Must be 23 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle being operated.
• Must successfully complete all company training and certification requirements.
• Must be qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle under FMCSR rules.
• Ability to drive safely and use navigation tools.
• Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
• Ability to carry out instructions without constant supervision.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public.

Responsibilities

• Drives company vehicles to deliver lumber, building materials, hardware, and other supplies.
• Collects payment from customers on COD orders and records customer information.
• Verifies order details and obtains customer signature on delivery ticket.
• Uses navigation tools to locate delivery addresses efficiently.
• Records all pertinent delivery information for accurate tracking.
• Collects and organizes required paperwork for delivery activities.
• Acts as a customer service liaison, addressing customer complaints and requests.
• Collects or picks up empty containers and unsold merchandise as directed.
• Loads vehicle safely and maintains cleanliness of delivery vehicles.
• Performs routine safety checks on vehicles.
• Assists in the yard and warehouse with stocking and organizing materials.
• Complies with all company safety standards and laws.
• Operates a forklift.
• Attends all store meetings and training sessions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
