The CDL CMV Driver is responsible for safely transporting products between designated locations, performing daily vehicle inspections and ensuring the secure loading and unloading of cargo. The driver must comply with all federal, state, and company regulations governing commercial motor vehicle operation.

Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A.
  • A minimum of 12 months of over the road, CDL Class A driving experience in the past 36 months.
  • Proven experience operating CMVs safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service requirements.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks related to loading/unloading and vehicle inspection.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Ability to lift and move loads up to 50lbs using manual or mechanical means.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
  • Ability to perform vehicle inspections requiring bending, climbing, and reaching.
  • Ability to squat, crouch and reach as needed; able to enter and exit the vehicle’s cab numerous times each day
  • Must be able to work in severe weather conditions—both heat and cold.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) to transport products between two specified location safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Load and unload products using pallet jacks or Powered Industrial Truck Operations (PITO) as required, following safe handling procedures.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and cargo delivery records in compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
  • Report any vehicle defects, accidents, or incidents promptly to management.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies while operating the vehicle.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and management regarding delivery status and any issues encountered.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle, including fueling and checking fluid levels.
  • Participate in all company related required training (safety, human resources, etc.) and meetings as required.
