About The Position

Aramark is hiring a CDL Class B Driver to support transportation services at Lincoln University. This position is responsible for safely transporting students, faculty, staff, and guests using a variety of university fleet vehicles, including 39-passenger buses, 15-passenger vans, SUVs, sedans, and pickup trucks.   This role primarily works weekday daytime hours but requires flexibility to support after-hours field trips, athletic events, airport runs, and special campus activities. When not actively driving, the Driver ensures vehicles are clean, fueled, inspected, and ready for dispatch. The Driver works closely with the Fleet Coordinator and Transportation Office to maintain efficient and safe operations.   This is an excellent opportunity for a safety-focused professional driver who values reliability, customer service, and maintaining high vehicle standards.   Compensation: This position pays $22.06/hr

Requirements

  • Must be age 21 years or older
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL Class B) required
  • Clean driving record with 5 years of safe driving history
  • Must pass DOT physical and maintain a valid medical card
  • Must pass pre-employment and random DOT drug/alcohol testing
  • Completion of Defensive Driving Course is required
  • Passenger and/or air brake endorsements may be required
  • Minimum 1 year of professional driving experience preferred
  • Experience driving in varied weather conditions, including winter driving
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
  • This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

  • Operate university vehicles, including a 39-passenger bus (CDL Class B), passenger vans, SUVs, and pickups
  • Safely transport students, faculty, staff, and guests to designated locations
  • Complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and ridership documentation
  • Drive defensively and follow all DOT, state, and university transportation regulations
  • Support athletic department travel, field trips, and administrative airport transportation
  • Fuel, clean, and inspect vehicles to ensure readiness for next dispatch
  • Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns immediately
  • Work closely with the Fleet Coordinator and dispatcher to manage schedules and special requests
  • Assist with light clerical or dispatch support as needed
  • Maintain a professional, courteous, and customer-service-focused presence
  • Safely lift luggage or equipment up to 80 lbs when required
  • Attend required safety meetings and maintain compliance with all transportation policies
