We are seeking a Full-Time CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team. Met-Con is a rapidly growing structural steel fabrication and installation company seeking an experienced Class A CDL Truck Driver to deliver fabricated structural steel from our facilities in Cocoa, FL; Richmond, VA; and York, PA to jobsites throughout the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Southeast regions. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Deliver fabricated structural steel and construction materials safely and on schedule Secure flatbed loads using chains, binders, and straps in full compliance with FMCSA regulations Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance or repair needs promptly Ensure all shipping tickets and documentation are accurately completed and submitted Communicate effectively with shop personnel and job site contacts regarding pickups and deliveries Assist with loading and unloading materials as required Physically move materials on trucks, trailers, ground, and shop floor Operate forklifts and/or overhead cranes as needed Any other essential duties and tasks assigned by the Delivery Coordinator or Shop as needed Overnight & Extended Load Assignments Certain deliveries may require overnight stays, extended trips, or out-of-area assignments based on operational needs. Acceptance of such assignments is a condition of employment unless the load is unsafe or illegal under DOT regulations. Refusal without legitimate safety or legal cause may result in disciplinary action. Load Acceptance Policy Drivers are required to accept all assigned loads unless the load is unsafe or illegal under DOT regulations. Refusal based on personal preference, convenience, or trip length is prohibited and subject to discipline.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL license
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Prior flatbed experience delivering to active jobsites
  • Availability for overnight stays and occasional long-distance deliveries
  • Scheduling flexibility to meet jobsite demands
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of structural steel components (stairs, rails, etc.) preferred

Responsibilities
