About The Position

The driver will be expected to transport, deliver, and/or unload metal roofing panels to customers in a safe and timely manner to our dealers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. Safely assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett to customer's location and/or return products. Deliver material in 'route truck/multi-drop' fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations. Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas. Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law. Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle. Able to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact. Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly. Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment. Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed. Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines. May perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
• Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of CDL certified truck driving experience preferred.
• Must be able to drive interstate as business necessitates.
• Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
• Must be insurable according to company insurance requirements.
• Strong customer service skills.
• A combination of education and experience may be qualifying.
