Requirements

  • Class A DOT Driver License
  • Minimum 2 years Tractor-Trailer driving experience
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card with no restrictions
  • Ability to hook and unhook trailers from tractors
  • Willing to lift 65 lbs. on an as needed basis
  • Able to execute and optimize provided delivery/collection routes
  • Able to develop relationships with new customers

Responsibilities

  • Visit and engage non-participating distributors, pallet recyclers, and other locations to recover CHEP assets that have exited the network, using negotiation and relationship-building techniques.
  • Monitor and track the flow of CHEP assets within the assigned territory, ensuring all equipment is accounted for and recovered promptly.
  • Take responsibility for identifying and tracking non-participating distributor transfers into the territory, securing the return of CHEP equipment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with non-participating distributors and local pallet recyclers to facilitate ongoing asset recovery efforts.
  • Maintain regular contact with the local recycler community to ensure open communication and efficient recovery of CHEP assets.
  • Establish and cultivate new business relationships, encouraging potential customers to participate in the CHEP program and sign on as partners.
  • Work closely with Logistics Coordinators and other CHEP employees to coordinate recovery efforts and ensure timely and successful asset retrieval.
  • Primarily operate a CHEP-leased semi-truck and trailer in compliance with all DOT Regulations and CHEP Safety requirements.
  • Demonstrate efficient planning and critical thinking to execute deliveries and collections at pre-determined locations.
  • Maintain responsibility for all equipment's safe and legal operation, including scheduling preventive maintenance and repairs, passing inspections, and timely damage reporting.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with local customers, service centers, and repair shops by ensuring program compliance, which drives efficiencies and increases collection volume.
  • Record all delivery and pick-up information and communicate with CHEP LVR support staff via email, phone, tablets, and CHEP-approved applications.
  • Visit potential collection locations to explain CHEP and gather data/information to add locations to the customer base.
