About The Position

This position will be responsible for transportation services in support of the Defense Health Agency (DHA). Location (On-Site): Walter Reed Medical Center, Bethesda, MD Job Type: Full-time with Some Overtime Hours at Time and a Half Rates

Requirements

Must be a US Citizen (required)
Must be able to successfully pass a Tier III background investigation and suitability and maintain good standing (required)
Have a CDL Class A with Passenger (P) and Airbrake Endorsements (required)
Have 7+ years’ experience as a driver in the National Capital Region (required)
Have basic computer skills
Have a High School Diploma or Equivalency Licensure/Certification/Registration (required)
Be able to successfully complete Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) and maintain certification as required
Be able to complete GSA Defensive Driver’s Course within 90 days of being on board
Be able to remain current with licensing/certificates/training by Continuing Education
Be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with customers, supervisor and dispatchers for assignments, route information and customer service

Responsibilities

Provide transportation support to the Department of Patient Administration MEDEVAC team when required.
Provide transportation support to hospital staff and Troop Command when required
Provide transportation support to Wounded Warriors for event transportation.
Perform required administrative duties
Provide customer service to the entire hospital community through knowledge and phone courtesy.
