About The Position

We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a CDL Class A Driver. Our organization handles shipments and deliveries across a vast region and requires a skilled CDL Class A Driver to ensure our company deliverables are met. We’re looking for a candidate with demonstrated road knowledge and applicable state laws.

Requirements

  • 2+ Years of Experience driving Preferred.
  • Maintain current Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with an excellent driving record.
  • Demonstrate ability to read a map and follow turn by turn direction on electronic devices.
  • Medical Examiners Certification.
  • Must be able to push/pull light or heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for transporting dry freight and meat loads from customer location, to transfer location or processing location.
  • Manage assigned routes ensuring that dry freight and meat loads are transported in a safe, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Responsible for picking up and transporting dry freight and meat loads safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Follow routing software route schedule.
  • Plan daily schedule based on customer needs by reviewing daily paperwork provided by Transportation Manager
  • Ensure load is secured and placarded if required, prior to operating vehicle on public highway.
  • May require loading and securing material or unloading truck at various customer sites.
  • Ensure that assigned paperwork is completed legibly, neatly, accurately, and completely and returned to Logistics Manager, at the time of debriefing, for processing.
  • Communicate with Logistics Manager regarding any change to pickups.
  • Driver is expected to provide the highest level of customer service at all times.
  • Report any problems/issues with accounts to the Logistics Manager before the close of business each day. Report any maintenance problems to Logistics Manager for follow-up. Ensure all defects have been corrected prior to operating the vehicles again.
  • Perform a documented pre-trip inspection on vehicles prior to leaving yard to commence route. Perform a documented post-trip inspection on vehicles prior to being debriefed for the day.
  • Use of ELD (electronic logging device) and Geotab to log hours per DOT guidelines.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
