POSITION SUMMARY: The CDL Driver is responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle on a dedicated daily overnight route between Sarasota and Port Orange, FL. This role ensures timely, accurate, and damage-free transportation of materials while maintaining full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety standards.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A with acceptable driving record
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Minimum three (3) years commercial driving experience
- Ability to meet FMCSA/DOT regulations and drug & alcohol testing requirements
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inter-facility transport
- Familiarity with ELD systems and electronic trip reporting
- Experience operating tractor-trailer
- Strong safety mindset and attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work overnight schedule consistently
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle on a scheduled overnight route between company locations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and company policy
- Transport materials safely, securely, and without damage
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD), trip records, and required documentation
- Ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations
- Safely load, secure, and unload cargo when required
- Communicate effectively with leadership and facility teams regarding delays, issues, or safety concerns
- Report vehicle maintenance needs promptly and follow company maintenance procedures
- Follow all company safety standards, PPE requirements, and defensive driving practices
- Maintain professional conduct and represent the company in a safe and responsible manner
