Ace Hardware is opening a new 1.5M sq. ft. facility in Kansas City and is seeking experienced drivers to join our team. We are committed to being the Safest Fleet in the Country, and we need individuals who have the drive, expertise, and safety mindset to help us achieve this goal. This position offers a Sunday-Thursday schedule, with drivers typically home most nights. Our delivery trailers are equipped with lift gates, and drivers will use electric pallet jacks when possible. We provide newer, well-maintained tractors and equipment, and we support our drivers with company-paid HazMat Certification and DOT physicals. Our Truck Drivers work independently to provide superior customer service, and we are excited about the growth opportunities available at Ace Hardware.

  • Promote a safe and productive workplace through proper use of PPE and safe operation of powered equipment.
  • Contribute to a successful safety culture in the facility.
  • Drive Class A tractor/trailer on-road and deliver products to clients.
  • Maintain communication with delivery clients and the general public.
  • Minimum of 1 year Class A tractor/trailer on-road driving experience or comparable experience with large military vehicles.
  • In the past year, maximum of one minor moving violation.
  • In the past 3 years, no suspensions or revocations and no convictions of reckless, careless, or hit and run driving.
  • In the past 5 years, no conviction of DUI or DWI.
  • Minimum age requirement of 21 years.
  • Valid CDL with hazardous material endorsement or 90 days to obtain.
  • Must meet the physical qualification requirement established for the USDOT (Part 391, Subpart E).
  • Must pass DOT drug screen and be enrolled in a random drug screen program.
  • Must read and speak English sufficiently to understand highway signs and signals, converse with delivery clients, and make entries on reports/records.
