The CDL Class A Truck Driver at Veritiv is a crucial role responsible for ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods and supplies to clients. This position requires a commitment to exceptional service, working collaboratively with a team of innovative and value-driven employees. The driver will be tasked with transporting goods both onsite and offsite, adhering to established procedures to guarantee on-time delivery. A significant part of the role involves visually inspecting loaded trucks to confirm that orders are accurately pulled, packaged, converted, shipped, and loaded to prevent damages during transportation. Any defects or equipment issues must be reported to the supervisor promptly. The driver will operate according to an assigned schedule, ensuring professional and courteous interactions with customers to enhance their experience. Responsibilities also include filing and retrieving necessary documents and delivery records from the company’s filing systems while monitoring inventory quality and quantity. The driver must follow mandatory work instructions to protect the environment and ensure the safety of themselves and others. Additionally, they will report any problems or issues related to facilities and customers, operate various equipment and machines, and may assist with warehouse duties such as order filling and loading/unloading trucks. To be successful in this role, the driver must be available to start work at 7:00 a.m. and must comply with all Department of Transportation regulations, maintaining a safe driving record and a clean Motor Vehicle Record. A Hazmat endorsement is preferred and must be obtained within the first six weeks of hire. The position requires the ability to operate various material handling equipment, with liftgate experience being preferred. Familiarity with computerized warehouse systems is also advantageous. Strong organizational, time management, and customer relations skills are essential, along with problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. The driver must be capable of working independently and as part of a team, and must hold a valid Class A CDL. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
