About The Position

The CDL B Delivery Truck Driver at Shamrock Foods Company is responsible for safely operating Class B motor carrier equipment to deliver food products to customers along a predetermined route. This role involves loading and unloading products, ensuring product integrity, and providing excellent customer service while adhering to company policies and D.O.T. regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-3 months related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Clean driving record for the past 39 months.
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class B required.
  • Ability to use a two-wheeler hand truck.
  • Skills in using hand-held electronic data entry devices are helpful.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrated team player abilities.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to complete required paperwork for Shamrock and DOT.
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public.

  • Retail experience in the grocery industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drives truck to deliver food products to customers on a predetermined route.
  • Unloads product from delivery equipment and checks in with customer representatives.
  • Resolves service complaints and places stock in proper temperature zones.
  • Rotates and stocks product as needed.
  • Collects money from customers, makes change, and records transactions.
  • Communicates with dispatch and other drivers to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Checks refer settings to maintain product integrity.
  • Obtains customer signatures on receipts for delivery.
  • Collects or picks up empty containers and rejected merchandise.
  • Informs customers of new products or services.
  • Cleans the inside of the truck.
  • Performs daily vehicle condition reports.
  • Conducts frequent temperature checks to ensure product integrity.
  • Complies with company policies and D.O.T. regulations.
