About The Position

Albertsons/Tom Thumb Distribution Center Local CDL Truck Driver. We are seeking experienced, passionate, and reliable CDL A Truck Drivers to join our amazing team. The essential functions of the CDL Driver involve performing pre and post-trip inspections, utilizing knowledge of safe loading/unloading, and proper operation of equipment such as tractor/trailer/yard truck/straight truck. Drivers are responsible for reviewing paperwork, checking orders, delivering and unloading products using various equipment, operating vehicles safely while maintaining DOT compliance, and ensuring on-time delivery while communicating professionally with customers and vendors. The position is based in the Distribution Center.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Class A CDL
  • Must have a safe driving record / clear MVR
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Able to operate an 18-wheel tractor / trailer to deliver and pick up products from the stores
  • Minimum 2 years of experience driving a 53ft. tractor / trailer
  • Must be willing to work weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport goods from one location to another
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of their vehicle
  • Utilize knowledge of safe and effective loading/unloading and the proper operation of their equipment (tractor/trailer/yard truck/ straight truck)
  • Review paperwork for completeness and accuracy
  • Check orders for the correct number of cases
  • Deliver and unload products utilizing equipment, including tractor trailer, ramps, pallet jacks, load bars, and other devices which assist in delivery
  • Operate vehicle safely while maintaining DOT compliance and following all local, state, and Federal requirements
  • Ensure on-time delivery while communicating professionally with customers and vendors
  • Plan routes to meet delivery schedules
  • Report any issues or incidents to the dispatch team
  • Maintain a clean and organized truck
