Universal Intermodal services all major US Ports and intermodal Rail Ramps and offers domestic door-to-door drayage to and from Ports, Rails, and Customer Facilities. We operate from 40 terminals and eight container yards. We provide Chassis, Containers, Drayage, and Services for Imports, Exports, and Domestic moves. Universal is a leading provider of customized transportation and logistics solutions throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Colombia. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Class A CDL
  • 6 months of verifiable experience in the last year
  • Clean driving record with proven safe-driving history
  • No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years
  • No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
  • No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years
  • Strong time management & communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial trucks safely and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues.
  • Load and unload cargo as needed, ensuring proper securing of loads.
  • Transport goods to assigned destinations within scheduled timeframes.
  • Maintain electronic or paper logs of working hours, driving hours, and rest periods (DOT compliance).
  • Communicate with dispatch regarding delays, incidents, or route changes.
  • Ensure accurate completion of delivery documentation (bills of lading, delivery receipts, etc.).
  • Follow planned routes while adjusting for traffic or weather conditions.
  • Provide excellent customer service at delivery sites.
  • Keep equipment clean and report any necessary repairs.
