About The Position

The Delivery Driver, CDL- A will be responsible for transporting products to and from customer locations, ensuring timely, accurate, and safe deliveries. In addition to driving, this role includes assisting with order picking and warehouse tasks. Operates large commercial vehicles, including semi-trucks, particularly for turf branches. Target Specialty Products is a leading national wholesale distributor of specialty agricultural chemicals, application equipment, products, supplies, services and education, serving the entire United States from 42 conveniently located branch locations in the U.S. and Canada.

Requirements

  • Experience in a Warehouse environment
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) regularly.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to maintain a positive attitude during customer interactions.
  • Willingness to assist with warehouse operations, including order picking, when necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • CDL A

Nice To Haves

  • Experience driving delivery vehicles (box trucks, vans, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport products from the branch to customer locations, ensuring on-time deliveries and proper handling of goods.
  • Perform routine inspections of the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, report any issues, and maintain cleanliness.
  • Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, answer questions, and ensure customer satisfaction with the delivery process.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, including delivery notes, customer signatures, and any additional required paperwork.
  • Load and unload products, ensuring all items match delivery paperwork and are secured for transport.
  • Assist with picking and packing customer orders accurately from the warehouse to ensure efficient branch operations.
  • Follow all safety protocols and traffic regulations to ensure safe driving and adherence to company safety policies.
  • Obtain and maintain required license endorsements and certifications, including HAZMAT, as determined by the company.
  • Adhere to all regulations and safety requirements for their vehicle type.
  • Follow Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for DOT and CDL drivers.
  • Ensure proper vehicle maintenance, load security, and compliance with all traffic laws.
  • Maintain the appropriate certifications and endorsements for their vehicle class to ensure safe and efficient deliveries.
  • Assist with various warehouse duties such as receiving, stocking products, picking and packing orders, inventory management, and general warehouse maintenance, as needed.
