CDL-A Driver with Tanker and Hazmat
About The Position
We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL-A Driver with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements to support operations at our Houghton Lake facility. Not all driving requires CDL-A with X endorsement) This position combines dedicated driving responsibilities (70%) with light shop and general labor support including maintenance and cleaning. Base pay is $21-$23/hr. Position Overview This role is approximately: 60% driving – Transporting vehicles and materials primarily between the Houghton Lake and Clio facilities 10% local runs & support – Taking trucks to blast, delivering parts, and completing other local deliveries as needed 30% shop support – General labor duties including light maintenance tasks, assisting technicians, and maintaining a clean and organized shop environment
Requirements
- Must pass criminal and Clearinghouse background check
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening, including marijuana
- Valid Commercial Driver's License, Class A
- Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required
- Ability to comply with all DOT rules and regulations
- Clean or acceptable driving record
- Must be able to operate fork lift (we train)
- Ability to perform light physical labor as part of daily duties
- Dependable, flexible, and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
- Ability to work in all levels of noise and odors as associated with shop environments
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a shop or industrial environment is a plus
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a CDL-A vehicle in compliance with all DOT and company regulations
- Transport materials between facilities in an efficient and professional manner
- Complete required DOT logs, inspections, and documentation accurately
- Deliver vehicles and parts to vendors or service locations as needed
- Assist with light maintenance, shop cleanup, and general labor tasks
- Work collaboratively with technicians and shop personnel
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, accountability, and professionalism
