About The Position

As a Driver Mentor at American Transport Team, you will earn for every single mile the truck drives, whether it’s you or your student behind the wheel. This role allows you to help new drivers launch their careers while maximizing your pay. The mentor program is structured to run an average of 11 days OTR, providing flexibility with breaks and the opportunity to run solo between students. You will also receive paid development training and bonuses for student milestones, making this a rewarding position both financially and professionally.

Requirements

• CDL-A License with a clean record required.
• At least 3+ months of driving experience to be mentor-eligible.
• Must pass DOT drug screen and background check.
• Professional attitude and ability to coach new drivers.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and train new drivers to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
• Earn pay for all truck miles driven, including those driven by students.
• Participate in the NextGen Mentor Training Program to enhance mentoring skills.
• Complete an online training checklist to facilitate smoother mentoring processes.
• Manage student driving schedules to maximize efficiency and safety.
