BASIC FUNCTION: Delivers materials to job site, inspects, and maintains truck, reports shortages, and claims to Material Manager and assists in loading and storing of materials. Please note this position does require lifting and bending daily.

Requirements

• Valid operator's license and endorsement required to operate truck (CDL-A)
• Ability to pass drug screen and DOT physical
• Insurability for driving
• High School Diploma
• 6 months experience driving truck (prefer lumber experience)

Responsibilities

• Promptly completes deliveries and returns to store in a timely manner
• Works on yard to assist customers between delivery assignments
• Assists yard workers in unloading and storing returned merchandise
• Assists forklift operators with building delivery loads
• Acts with a sense of urgency to provide prompt service to customers
• Relays messages sent by customers during jobsite deliveries
• Makes final check of delivery orders for accuracy
• Obtains approval on all loads prior to departure
• Delivers and unloads orders to customer's satisfaction
• Accurately records merchandise returns and completes required paperwork
• Organizes and secures loads for safe transport
• Drives safely on yard observing posted speed limits
• Maintains safety devices in good working order
• Wears safety equipment and seat belts as directed
• Operates truck within all DOT guidelines
• Assists with housekeeping in yard & warehouse
• Submits pre-trip inspection forms in a timely manner
• Makes a neat & clean presentation of material delivered to jobsites
• Cooperatively follows instructions from supervisor
• Presents a friendly and professional demeanor
