About The Position

Position: Manager, Clinical Documentation FTE: 1.0 Shift Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Leads and manages the medical coding team to ensure precise and timely coding of medical records in compliance with regulatory standards. Oversees the development and enforcement of coding policies and procedures to uphold data quality and integrity. Coordinates ongoing training programs to enhance coder expertise and monitors productivity and accuracy metrics to drive continuous improvement. Collaborates with clinical and administrative teams is essential to resolve coding issues and optimize documentation, while ensuring strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality regulations. Reviews complex coding cases, guides appropriate code assignments, and leads audits to maintain compliance with healthcare coding standards.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) OR Unlicensed physician who has graduated from a medical school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools as meeting eligibility requirements for its graduates to apply to the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) for certification and examination at the time of graduation
  • 5+ years of experience in medical coding, including leadership or management of coding teams
  • Strong expertise in coding policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience coordinating coder training, auditing, and quality assurance programs
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex coding issues and documentation discrepancies
